Donald R. “Bob” Bunton is a registered patent attorney whose intellectual property law practice currently encompasses patent preparation and prosecution, IP transactions, product clearance and legal opinions, IP due diligence and competitive assessments, and international IP protection. With a background in aerospace engineering and programming, Bob works with technical areas including electronics, computer software and hardware, and mechanical engineering.
Before joining Fitch Even, Bob served as a summer associate at an IP law firm in Indiana, where he prepared office action responses, provisionals, and patent applications. In addition, Bob assisted with patent defense work.
While attending the University of Illinois College of Law, Bob worked as an analyst at the university’s Office of Technology Management, where he researched patentability of invention disclosures, prepared provisional applications, assisted with licensing agreements and research grant contracts, and made recommendations on IP protection. Prior to law school, Bob did electrical engineering work as a systems engineer for a global manufacturer of machine tools.
