Fitch Even Partner Calista Mitchell to Speak on Protecting U.S. and Canadian Patents

On March 27, 2012, Fitch Even partner Calista J. Mitchell will co-present a webinar on “Protecting U.S. and Canadian Patents and Designs and Understanding Your Duties Before the Patent Offices,” sponsored by the Young Practitioners Committee of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC).

Ms. Mitchell and her co-presenter will discuss and compare U.S. and Canadian patent and industrial design prosecution strategies and an attorney’s professional obligations before each of the patent offices. 

Founded in 1926, IPIC is Canada's preeminent association of professionals who specialize in intellectual property, including patents for inventions, trademarks, copyright, and industrial designs. IPIC is committed to the protection and promotion of intellectual property in the Canadian economy.

Ms. Mitchell focuses her intellectual property law practice primarily on domestic and global patent prosecution of both utility and design applications and on freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions. She counsels clients in a variety of industries on IP strategy and licensing, as well as patent litigation.
