Fitch Even Sponsors World IP Day Program at Columbia College Chicago

April 22, 2016

Fitch Even is proud to be a sponsor of the program “Creative Digital Arts: Copyright and Pathways to Success,” presented at Columbia College Chicago’s Film Row Cinema on April 26, 2016, in conjunction with World IP Day. Additional sponsors of the event include AIPLA, IPLAC, and Lawyers for the Creative Arts, among others.

The interactive program will feature IP attorneys and established artists who will discuss the essentials of copyright for today’s artists, fair use and licensing, and best practices for managing, protecting and promoting one’s work. A networking reception will follow. For more information on this free event and to register, please visit the program website.

In 2000, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) designated April 26 as World IP Day, established to increase understanding about the role that intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity in the arts and technology. The theme this year is “Digital Creativity: Culture Reimagined”—an exploration of “the future of culture in the digital age: how we create it, how we access it, how we finance it.” For more information on World IP Day events and resources, visit the WIPO website.
