Congratulations to partner Sherri N. Blount, who was named 2011 "Woman Lawyer of the Year" by the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia (WBA). This prestigious award has been given to select women lawyers since 1964 for "their exceptional achievements in the legal profession and/or for extraordinary contributions to the advancement of women in the legal profession.”
Receiving this award along with Ms. Blount is Fitch Even client Debra Lee, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks. This year, according to the WBA, the Woman Lawyer of the Year Award recognizes "a woman in-house counsel and outside counsel pair who enjoy a great working relationship, demonstrate that networking and rainmaking can work well among women, and advance women in their workplaces.”
Ms. Blount and Ms. Lee will be presented with this award at the WBADC and WBA Foundation 2011 Annual Awards Dinner on May 26, 2011, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. For more information, please visit the WBA website.
