Fitch Even Sponsors World IP Day Program at Columbia College Chicago

April 11, 2017

Fitch Even is proud to be an organizer and sponsor of the program “Improving Lives Through Innovation,” presented at Columbia College Chicago’s Film Row Cinema on April 26, 2017, in conjunction with World Intellectual Property Day. Fitch Even partner Nikki L. Little served as co-chair of the event, and partner Alisa C. Simmons was a member of the planning committee.

Panelists will include Midwest Regional USPTO Director Dr. Christal Sheppard, business leaders from Chicago’s burgeoning technology sector, and IP attorneys including Fitch Even partner Steven G. Parmelee. The speakers will walk the audience through the innovation process, then discuss best practices in protecting those innovations. A networking reception will follow. For more details and to register for this free event, please visit the program website.

In 2000, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) designated April 26 as World IP Day, established to increase understanding about the role that intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity in the arts and technology. More information on World IP Day 2017 events and resources can be found on the WIPO website.
