September 12, 2011

Fitch Even partners Karl R. Fink, Joseph E. Shipley, and Allen E. Hoover are teaching an advanced class in patent law as adjunct professors at the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois, during its Fall 2011 semester. The course, "Current Issues in Patent Defenses," is exploring recent key developments in patent law, focusing on how the ongoing evolution of the law is affecting defenses raised in patent infringement lawsuits, taking into consideration the viewpoints of both the patent owner and the accused infringer.

Established in 1897, the University of Illinois College of Law is consistently regarded as one of the nation’s top 10 public law schools. The College of Law's Intellectual Property and Technology Law program is actively involved with the innovative new technologies emerging from the University's other graduate programs and its national research centers, including discoveries in supercomputing, agricultural biotechnology, information science, engineering, and numerous other areas.
