September 7, 2007 Dr. Richard Kaba's art work has been accepted to the 4th Annual Alumni Art Show hosted by a Chicago gallery, Madron LLC. The exhibition, made in collaboration with the University of Michigan's School of Art & Design and UM Club of Greater Chicago, will benefit the Illinois Scholarship Fund. Dr. Kaba, an alumnus of the University of Michigan, contributes his photography to the show which opens on September 19th at the 1000 West North Avenue. March 26, 2007 From March 19-24, over three hundred students chosen from over ten thousand local science fair participants gathered at the Museum of Science & Industry to compete in the 57th Annual Chicago Public Schools Student Science Fair. Several Fitch, Even attorneys served as volunteer judges for a special award program sponsored by the Chicago Intellectual Property Alliance. Their mission was to identify the student projects involving the most inventive subject matter, along with educating students about inventions and the patenting process. CIPA provides assistance with the filing of a patent application to the student with the most promising invention, and cash awards for the three most inventive projects. February 25, 2007 Fitch Even's Legally Insane and Legally Insane2 teams did it again! Attorneys: Richard Kaba Jon Birmingham, Mark Borsos, Amanda Lowerre, Calista Mitchell, Nicolas Peters, Meghan Rooney, Sarah Walkington and staff: Laura Cebin, Ania Garratt, Jorge Molina, and Daisy Santana, participated in the 10th annual Hustle Up The Hancock. The fundraiser organized by the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago brought 4,000 people on Sunday, February 25 to climb the stairs of Chicago's third tallest skyscraper. February 13, 2007 On February 13, Steve Favakeh participated in the weekly breakfast organized by the Rotary Club of Chicago-Far North. Mr. Favakeh, a partner of the firm, gave a presentation regarding intellectual property, including discussions ranging from what constitutes patentable subject matter to interviewing examiners at the PTO Office to convince them of the patentability of an invention. Chicago's club is a branch of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professionals gathering 1.2 million members from 200 countries, and encouraging high ethical standards in business, and helping to build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary Club of Chicago-Far North serves Rogers Park, West Ridge, Andersonville, Edgewater, Uptown, and other surrounding neighborhoods. Fitch Even Participates In Team Shakespeare Gala
February 6, 2007 On February 6, 2007, Fitch Even participated in the annual Team Shakespeare Gala. The fundraiser was organized in support of Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Arts-in-Education program for students and teachers. Team Shakespeare was introduced in 1991 and has reached almost one million students and teachers offering a unique on-site collection of teaching and reference materials. The program features free teachers' workshop and provides them with the instruments to help effective teaching of Shakespeare's plays. |
