Fitch Even Attorneys Win Case For Pro Bono Client, Lakeview Pantry

April 2, 2008

On April 2, 2008, Fitch Even successfully moved for the dismissal of a civil action in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division against the Lakeview Pantry, a non-profit organization that provides food and clothing assistance in the City of Chicago. Fitch Even defended the Lakeview Pantry free of charge against a personal injury claim involving an automobile collision between a Lakeview Pantry delivery vehicle and a Chicago Police Officer. The case was referred to the firm by Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

Christine Abuel Pompa, Amanda Lowerre, and Karl Fink represented the Lakeview Pantry. They continue Fitch Even's long tradition of providing pro bono legal assistance to our communities.

The Lakeview Pantry provides support to those who need it the most - poor people with an average income about $400 per month and often no place to live. On-site distribution and home delivery service are possible thanks to donations from the Greater Chicago Food Depository and private contributions.
