Fitch Even partner Joseph Shipley served as a panelist for "Ramifications of KSR v Teleflex" at Northwestern University School of Law on January 18, 2008. In addition to a general discussion of the KSR decision and its alteration of the obviousness standard, the panel commented on recent lower court decisions applying the KSR standard, and discussed how future patent infringement cases are likely to evolve. The panel also addressed questions about how the KSR decision may affect the patent system as a whole.
