Fitch Even Elects Four New Partners
January 4, 2010 Fitch Even is pleased to announce that Nick Peters, Joe Marinelli, Joel Bootzin and Jeff Chelstrom have been elected partners of the firm. Mr. Peters joined the firm in 2003 after working with the firm as a summer associate in 2001. He practices in all areas of intellectual property law, primarily focusing on client counseling, patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation. Mr. Peters serves clients engaged in a variety of technical fields including digital and RF electronics, communications equipment, information transmitter technologies, medical imaging technologies, magnetic storage media erasure, mechanical water systems elements, and various software applications. He is a registered patent attorney and is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Mr. Peters received a B.S., magna cum laude, in mathematics and applied physics and an M.S. in physics, both from Vanderbilt University. Mr. Peters received his law degree, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago. Mr. Marinelli is based in Fitch Even's Chicago office. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation in a broad range of technologies such as liquid crystal displays, lighting electronics, encryption software, medical implants, plastic films, food oils, and global positioning systems. Mr. Marinelli is a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Bootzin also resides in the firm’s Chicago office, where he currently provides strategic counseling, legal opinions and patent prosecution services to several clients. Mr. Bootzin has worked with a wide range of technologies in the medical device, irrigation, agricultural and construction equipment, packaging, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, software, telecommunications and other industries. Mr. Bootzin is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin. He holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law. Mr. Chelstrom joined the firm in 2003, and worked previously at the firm as a summer associate in 2002. Prior to joining Fitch Even, Mr. Chelstrom worked at 3M Company for several years in the areas of adhesives and micro-abrasives. His practice at Fitch Even focuses on intellectual property prosecution, client counseling, and litigation, and encompasses a range of different technologies including food chemistry, irrigation systems, laminate films, adhesives, container seals, lubricants, fuel additives, refining processes, laminate flooring, flame retardant clothing, and illumination devices. Mr. Chelstrom is a registered patent attorney and is licensed to practice law in Illinois. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law.
