Fitch Even Partner Philip Petti to Assume New Role as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for USG Corporation

July 11, 2008

Partner Philip Petti has accepted a new position with the firm client, USG Corporation, as USG's Chief Intellectual Property Counsel. USG is a Fortune 500 company based in Chicago with over 14,000 employees and over $3 billion dollars in annual sales. USG is one of the nation's leaders in innovative products and systems for the construction and remodeling industries.

Phil joined the firm in 1991 and his practice has involved all areas of intellectual property law. As Phil explained, "This was a very difficult decision, which is a tribute to the firm and my experience here. I am very enthusiastic about Fitch Even and its future. It is very rare in today's legal environment to find a firm with such a depth of expertise in our field that has maintained a highly professional, client-centered practice, with a warm and collegial atmosphere."

FETF's managing partner, Karl Fink, observes that, "Phil is a fine example of the kind of lawyer that this firm has always sought. He is highly competent in the law, cares deeply about his clients, and is a keen and avid team player. We are going to miss Phil but also take pride in knowing that USG is receiving an excellent leader for its IP program."

The partners, associates, and staff of FETF wish Phil the very best of luck and success in his new role with USG.
