Fitch Even partner Karl R. Fink will serve as moderator at a program taking place on October 25 during the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) 2012 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The program, presented by the AIPLA Corporate Practice Committee, will feature a panel of in-house counsel discussing a variety of topics relating to IP law and practice of interest to corporate lawyers, including valuation of IP assets; creative approaches for dealing with outside counsel and IP vendors; IP brokers and auctions; and other matters.
Founded in 1897, AIPLA is a national bar association constituted primarily of lawyers involved in the practice of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition law, as well as other fields of law affecting intellectual property.

Dropbox, Inc., the Federal Circuit affirmed that certain of Synchronoss's claims were invalid for indefiniteness, since the claims included a means-plus-function claim term that did not have adequate structural support in the specification.
