Fitch Even Attorneys and Paralegal Named to IPLAC Leadership Posts

Fitch Even attorney Alisa C. Simmons has been voted President-Elect of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) for 2014–15. Alisa’s practice includes U.S. and international trademark portfolio management, as well as copyright, advertising, social media, and Internet-related IP issues. She recently assisted a trade association with selecting and clearing a new brand name to be used with telecommunication hardware and software in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.

Fitch Even partner Joseph T. Nabor was reappointed Chair of IPLAC’s Historical Records Committee for 2014–15. Joe has chaired the firm’s Trademark and Copyright practice group since 1989.

Fitch Even partner Joseph E. Shipley, who served as IPLAC President for the 2008–09 bar year, will continue as IPLAC’s delegate to the U.S. Bar–EPO Liaison Council and as Vice-Chair of the International Patent Committee for 2014–15.

Fitch Even senior paralegal Cindi Schermerhorn was reappointed Co-Chair of the Paralegal Committee for the current bar year. Cindi has been serving in this role since the committee’s inception in 2011.

Founded in 1884, IPLAC is the oldest intellectual property law association in the United States. Fitch Even attorneys have served as leaders and members of the organization since its inaugural meeting.
