Fitch Even Counsel Ken Hairston Speaks at Access to Capital and Telecom Policy Conference

Fitch Even counsel Kenneth W. Hairston recently participated in a panel at the Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council’s (MMTC) 13th Annual Access to Capital and Telecom Policy Conference. The conference, which took place on July 15–16, 2015, in Washington, D.C., brought together hundreds of media and telecom industry experts, policymakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss far-reaching issues in the digital and social justice spheres impacting multicultural entrepreneurs and underserved communities.

Ken presented during the Digital Entrepreneurs and Emerging Companies Startup Workshop on July 15. During his panel session, “From IP to IPO: Let’s Get Legal,” Ken provided advice to entrepreneurs on what to expect when seeking funds from investors, focusing on the intellectual property issues that arise.

MMTC is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving equal opportunity and civil rights in the mass media, telecommunications, and broadband industries. Their mission is to preserve and expand minority ownership and equal employment opportunity in these industries and to close the digital divide. In MMTC’s public interest and civil rights law practice, they represent 80 national organizations in selected proceedings before the FCC, the Federal Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
