Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery LLP is pleased to announce that David A. Gosse, Conor S. Hunt, and Karen J. Wang have been elected partners, effective January 1, 2017.
David A. Gosse’s law practice encompasses both the acquisition and the enforcement of patent rights, with a particular emphasis on complex patent litigation. He has assisted clients in matters involving innovations including complex process control algorithms, gift card activation systems, industrial printing hardware and software, DRAM and Flash memory, RISC processors, and a variety of mechanical devices. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Dave worked for an engineering and software development firm, where he was responsible for designing, developing, and testing automation control solutions on a variety of platforms. He is a graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law and holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University. Dave is headquartered at Fitch Even’s Chicago office.
Conor S. Hunt focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution involving mechanical, electrical, and software technologies, counseling clients in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions spanning the globe. With a background in engineering, computer science, and physics, Conor has worked with a wide range of products and industries, including e-commerce, communication technologies, inventory management, packaging, and LED technology. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and holds a B.S. degree in General Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Conor works out of Fitch Even’s Chicago office.
Karen J. Wang principally represents clients in patent prosecution, post-issuance proceedings and patent appeals, and patent portfolio development and management. She regularly collaborates with foreign counsel in prosecuting foreign applications and domestic applications for global clients. Karen’s experience also extends to product clearance analysis and trademark registration matters. With her strong electrical engineering background, Karen is particularly qualified to work with technologies and product applications including network and Internet of Things (IoT) systems, autonomous machines and vehicles, electronic entertainment systems, e-commerce and retail logistics, and computer software. Karen is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Before joining Fitch Even’s San Diego office in 2011, Karen practiced IP law at the Silicon Valley offices of a large international corporate law firm.
