Diversity is the one true thing we all have in common. Recognizing this and leveraging our individual strengths in unity benefits us all. At Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery LLP, we firmly believe that embracing and cultivating a diverse firm enhances our ability to serve our clients more effectively, while providing a more vibrant, supportive, and productive professional environment for all our people.
Fitch Even is committed to identifying, hiring, retaining, and advancing qualified lawyers and other professionals of every race, gender, age, national origin, physical ability, religion, and sexual orientation. We do so through focused recruiting, training, mentoring, evaluation, and promotion, helping to ensure that all diverse lawyers and professionals can develop rewarding business relationships, achieve professional growth, and access leadership opportunities within our firm. Fostering and leveraging the talents of a diverse team reinforces our firm’s creativity and innovation, enabling us to attract and retain capable people with the multitude of skills and varied perspectives that clients need in today’s global marketplace.
Fitch Even promotes diversity not only within our own firm but throughout the legal profession and in the communities where we work. For one example, we support the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession (IILP) in its efforts to increase the number of diverse individuals entering the practice of law. To that end, a number of Fitch Even lawyers have reached out to minority students through presentations at a number of high schools, universities, and neighborhood organizations committed to diversity enhancement. As IILP’s Chief Executive Officer told the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Fitch Even is making “a concerted and conscious effort . . . to provide positive role models for these young people to encourage them to think of different career opportunities."
The mission of the firm's Diversity Initiative Committee is to continue to explore and implement activities and procedures that will further our goals and our commitment to diversity.
