Fitch Even partner Joseph T. Nabor was a featured speaker at a roundtable discussion on the “Perfect Partnership Between Attorneys and Paralegals,” presented by the Paralegal Committee of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) on April 25, 2014, and hosted at Fitch Even’s Chicago offices. Joe discussed best practices for how attorneys and paralegals can work together effectively and efficiently. A second speaker, Ed Latek, Litigation Specialist at LexisNexis, discussed resources and strategies for monitoring case status and progress.
Founded in 1884, IPLAC is the oldest intellectual property law association in the United States. Fitch Even attorneys have served as leaders and members of the organization since its inaugural meeting.

Today, in United States Patent and Trademark Office et al. v. Booking.com, the Supreme Court held that a generic word can be granted trademark protection when it is part of a ".com" domain name, ruling in favor of Booking.com in its petition to trademark its name. Read more
