Midsize Mansfield Rule

Fitch Even joined Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule for Midsize Firms initiative in 2021. We are proud to have achieved Mansfield Certification “Plus” after each of our first two Mansfield Rule terms. The Mansfield Rule is an initiative that aims to increase the representation of diverse lawyers in leadership.

Mansfield Certification indicates that Fitch Even met certain measurable objectives such as considering at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers—women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities—for 60% or more of the leadership roles and activities within the firm. This applies to selecting attorneys for governance positions, new hires, promotions, and client pitches and formal meetings. Fitch Even also commits to transparency in internal governance processes, including selection guidelines and job descriptions for management roles and committees. Our Certification “Plus” status indicates that, in addition to successfully meeting the consideration and transparency requirements, our firm has achieved 30 percent representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in current leadership roles and pathway activities.

Fitch Even has recommitted to Midsize Mansfield for the 2024–25 period. We look forward to participating in the process again and furthering our efforts to increase diversity and inclusion in hiring and leadership, ensuring all attorneys have an equal opportunity to grow and thrive in their careers.
