Jacqueline L. Thompson currently focuses her law practice on patent preparation and prosecution and product clearance and legal opinions. In addition, she supports litigation teams through research and document preparation.

Jackie primarily works with companies engaged in the chemical engineering, food science, mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering fields. She has assisted clients with diverse technology applications relating to medical devices, food manufacturing processes, packaging, heat exchange equipment, garage door systems, polymers, grilling accessories, and toys, among others.

Prior to attending law school, Jackie worked as an engineer for several years. As a measurement and control engineer for Ameren, Jackie worked on pipeline design and construction, managing and designing several engineering projects for natural gas gate stations and meter sets. In her role as manufacturing engineer at 3M, Jackie was responsible for the manufacturing process for several adhesive products. She also engaged with product development teams to launch new products at the 3M factory. Jackie’s engineering experience provides her with a deeper comprehension of clients’ intellectual property issues and challenges.
