Prestin Van Mieghem’s intellectual property law practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate, infringement analysis, and global portfolio prosecution. In addition, he drafts and reviews a variety of business contracts and intellectual property agreements, including product distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and joint development agreements.

Clients Prestin has worked with range from technology start-ups to large global manufacturers, many in the mechanical engineering and other high-tech industries.

Prestin holds a B.S. degree in Physics from Illinois State University. His background provides him with a clear understanding of the intricacies of clients’ technology, enabling him to efficiently and effectively communicate with inventors and in-house counsel.

Outside The Office

Prestin enjoys spending his time outside of the office with his wife, daughter, and dog. As a former college football player, Prestin enjoys watching football along with many other sports including soccer and basketball. He also enjoys cooking and playing sand volleyball.
