On January 24, 2012, Fitch Even partner Jeffrey A. Chelstrom will speak on " The Effects of the New Patent Rules on Prior Art" at a program sponsored by the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA). Mr. Chelstrom will discuss the future conversion of the U.S. patent system from a first-to-invent to a first-to-file system, and the dramatic effects it will have on developing and managing patent portfolios under the new rules resulting from the passing of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act.
